Stephanandra incisa "Crispa"
In early spring this low-growing, deciduous shrub begins to put out its small curly leaves that are followed by small white blooms. I have had Stephanandra for about 20 years, and it is still going strong. It was first given to me by someone who had forgotten its name, and it took many years to finally track down the correct name because I had never seen it in gardens or garden centers. Mine grows to about three feet high, and is twice as wide. Sun/part shade, Zones 4-8. Half Gallons.
