Trillium flexipes (Nodding Wakerobin)
Native from Minnesota south to Alabama, Trillium flexipes is one of the taller Trilliums, growing from 18 to 24 inches. The large creamy white, outward facing blooms are on a short stalk above the center of its typical leaves of three. It grows slowly from rhizomes and should be left undisturbed in full to part shade and rich, humusy soil and woodland condiitons.. It requires well-drained medium moisture and should be watered regularly in dry conditions. Foliage usually dies to the ground by mid-summer unless watered.
