Lespedeza thunbergii "Gibraltar"
"Gibraltar" is considered the standard by which ornamental Lespedeza is judged. It grows to six feet tall, almost twice that in width, and its arching stems are smothered in two-toned, pink and purple blooms in late summer/early fall. It's a deciduous shrub in cold areas, but if you cut it to the ground in early spring, it will quickly reach its height. Gibraltar is easy to grow in ordinary soil, full sun/part shade, and is somewhat drought tolerant. Zones 4-9. Quarts.
