I admit that I know very little about grasses, but the one thing I do know is that I like them. I've often walked around in fall and seen just ordinary grasses, with or without seed, with or without special fall colors, and I am drawn to them. Why, just the other day, I was clearing a hillside to plant irises, and I spied a clump of grass that was appealing to me, so I left it. Last year, I ordered seeds for a few ornamental grasses that were highly recommended, and this is the first one ready to go. I am drawn to this native grass for its bright green color, its texture, and its fountain-like, wavy appearance, particularly when there is a breeze. I keep picking up a pot of it, touching the grass, and showing it to anyone within listening distance - usually a cat or dog. It grows to two feet, changes color, from green to cream, with attractive foliage all summer, and attractive seed heads, too. Divide in mid to early summer, and be sure to remove old foliage in early spring. Full sun, well-drained soil, in Zones 6-10. Quarts.
