Heuchera americana "Marvelous Marble" (American Alumroot)
What I like most about this native Heuchera is its heavily silver and bronze marbled foliage; the spires of creamy white blooms, to two feet, are what take it over the top. Heuchera americana is a bee and hummingbird magnet and it is deer resistant. Winter mulching is advised after the ground freezes to prevent root heaving. Dividing the plant every few years to keep it vigorous is recommended. Other than that, you have yourself a colorful addition to the shade garden. Humus-rich, well-drained soil, partial shade in Zones 4-7.
