Kerria japonica "Pleniflora" Double flowering Japanese Kerria, Yellow Rose of Texas, Japanese Rose)
Kerria japonica "Pleniflora" is a beautiful deciduous shrub that can really brighten a shady spot in your garden (too much sun will fade the flowers). Everything about it is attractive: the bright green serrated leaves, the green stems, and the bright butterscotch yellow double blooms. This Kerria is a little taller than the species, growing from six to eight feet and a little more upright, although there is plenty of arching going on. Drought tolerant. Shade/part shade. Zones 4-8.
